Iowa U.S. Green Building Council's focus is to promote and enable the integration of sustainable practices into Iowa’s built environment! Being green has become mainstream. At the same time, achieving sustainability on a large scale is still very far off. The pace of change must increase. The USGBC Iowa Chapter is keenly aware of the scope and scale of these challenges— and we are prepared to lead the transformation toward sustainable communities. Our vision: Iowa is a place where all people live, work, and build sustainably into Iowa’s built environment!
The USGBC Iowa Chapter’s Guiding Principles provide the foundation and serve as touchstones by which the Chapter evaluates the success and integrity of its work: - Promote the Triple Bottom Line
- Establish Leadership
- Reconcile Humanity with Nature
- Respect Social Equity
- Maintain Integrity
- Ensure Inclusiveness
- Exhibit Transparency
Membership sets you apart and gives you a competitive edge by connecting you to a world of resources and networking opportunities. Our Chapter's greatest strength is the diversity of our growing membership. The U.S. Green Building Council - Iowa Chapter brings together a diverse community of professionals from businesses that design, construct, manage, finance, insure, own, and occupy buildings as well as product manufacturers, government agencies, and nonprofits. These leaders have learned that you can green the built environment and green your bottom line. |

NEW SITE - Kaelin Club Lambs |

Kaelin Club Lambs Has A New Website!
Like most sheep flocks, theirs started as a FFA project in 2000. Something’s have changed, but their goal has remained the same, focusing on quality, instead of quantity. They are raising Hampshire and Crossbred sheep that are structural correct, level and muscular. This allows them to fit a market where they can provide 4-H and FFA members market lambs that can compete at the county and state level as well as register Hampshire. There is nothing prettier than a perfectly fitted Hampshire in the show ring, however they think that there is nothing more practical then a Hampshire ewe shown without wool to expose all her qualities. Within their herd you will find genetics from some of the top show lamb breeders in the country including the farms of McGolden, Overman, Fitch, Ott, Farro, Olson, Farinelli and Leventini. The ram power in the beginning was primarily Fitch and Olson. The most recent move they have made in improving their flock was the purchase of Leventini ram out of his Boom Boom buck and a Slack ram at Sedalia. THey are very happy with lambs hitting the ground.

New Site :: BG Boers |
|
New Website |
|

BG Boers is located in South Central Oklahoma about 5 miles south west of Pauls Valley. Usually when people think of Pauls Valley they think of alfalfa hay and Field's pecan pies. Burl & Robin Graham want to add Boer goats to that list!
In 1995 Burl started buying goats from the sale ring for his boss, who wanted the goats to run with his cattle. That lasted about a year, or until one particular goat started jumping on pickups and eating the horse feed. Burl's boss told him if he wanted the goats he needed to load 'em up. Burl was bitten by the goat bug; Burl & Robin had the ideal place for goats, so Burl rushed to get them to the old home place before his boss changed his mind.
June of 2004 Burl & Robin bought two registered Does and that fall they entered their first ABGA show at the 2004 Oklahoma State Fair. They didn't win, but they didn't quit, and the rest is history. Check out BG Boers new website!
