Nothing makes for a better Friday than a surprise from one of our client's, Colby Ridge Popcorn! They have been popping fresh, gourmet popcorn since 1931. Their popcorn is so extra-fresh and delicious, that their customers have been known to travel great distances to Lincoln, Nebraska just to satisfy their Colby Ridge Popcorn craving!
Carla, Erica and I have all had the pleasure of working with Jeff. He has said for a few months now that he wanted to send us some popcorn for our hard work...and all that hard work paid off today!
A sincere THANK YOU shout out to Jeff with Colby Ridge!

Movie-ing Party for Sherry! |
|
Business Team Happenings |
|

| |
Today we are throwing a send off party for Sherry, as she will be relocating to western Iowa this month.
We have popcorn from Colby Ridge, a customer of EDJE, pop and other movie treats. We only got the Party Bag of popcorn, so hopefully it will last the day! Cheese is the business team’s favorite, but we also got caramel to try. Sherry has worked for EDJE for over four years, but you need not worry about her leaving, she will still be working for EDJE from new home! We are grateful that we still get to keep her on board with us, and that she even wants to stay with us! We will miss you in the office, but surely you will be able to come back from time to time and visit us in the office! |

A visitor from Maryland |

Last week, Kimberly Burns Koch from YourEquineSource.com jumped on a plane and headed to Iowa. The "puddle jumper", as her husband, George, put it was less than desirable, but they both survived unscathed, at least physically.
Kimberly began her journey with EDJE almost two years ago, when her online horse classified website, YourEquineSource.com. Since then, the site has taken on many different forms. It's gotten bigger, badder, and better over the two years, to suit member's needs. Kim takes the time to listen to what the members want, and delivers an exceptional buying and selling experience to all her members. Kim was fortunate to visit us during an EDJE food day, so they got to enjoy all the flavors of Iowa from EDJE. It was great meeting Kim in person, which we don't always get to do with our clients. I suppose now it's time for me to visit Maryland and get some crab cakes! |

This Sunday, one of EDJE's customers, Kimberly Burns of YourEquineSource.com is going to be interviewed on Rural Lifestyle on Highway 6 headquarter here in Iowa. Here is a sneak peek from their website: "This Sunday, in addition to our rural lifestyle news updates, we're going to visit with several women who have been smack in the middle of this movement. We'll be talking with Kimberly Burns of Your Equine Source. That's Kimberly and her daughter Kaitlynn working a trade show booth. Both women are horse people and live on an 80 acre facility in Maryland. Your Equine Source is the online resource for all sorts of products and services. When we talked Kimberly told me it was a natural reaction to what she has done for years...connecting people with equine products and services. Kimberly Burns and more this Sunday morning on Highway 6 - Your Road to the Country."
If you are in a 75 mile radius of Des Moines, Iowa, tune into 98.3 WOW FM this Sunday morning at 8:00 Central to hear the interview. If you aren't in the listening area, don't worry. We'lll be posting a link to the podcast that will be posted after the show. Kimberly is turning heads all over the internet. If you haven't yet, be sure to check out Your Equine Source.com and connect with Kimberly! |

Trash Talk |

Business Team Happenings |

So it was brought to my attention today that someone in the office needs to empty their trash, and that someone might be me:)
Last Friday it was sooooooo nice here in EDJEtown I was just too eager to leave work and I simply forgot to take my trash out. So needless to say it has been piling up for the last few weeks wreaking havoc over the entire office. Ok maybe that was a little bit of an exaggeration but I'm sure my fellow business team members were hoping I would empty the stink bomb soon! In my defense the bag o'chips was 100% Sherry's. I mean she probably ate 2 whole chips out of the entire bag. And I'm pretty sure there is a certain someone in the office that also threw in a few items. Luckily for the biz team, there has been an abundance of down time due to the extremely irritating slowness of our server. If not for the white screen of death I may never have found the time to take the trash out:) It is officially gone! I will miss you rotten stinky yellow milk:(

My tank is under siege! |

Hello, Boy Blue here with an important update. It seems that a new home isn't enough excitement for one week. My tank has been invaded. There is some sort of slow-moving creature now inhabiting my home. In a secret-op, undercover, fact-finding mission, I was attacked by this creature. I was quite scared, and quickly swam back to the other corner of my tank. The only information I was able to gather was this creature moves slowly around the tank sucking up the green gunk that is floating around. I was hopeful that I would have made friends with this alien, but I fear now that he is a hostile being, out to get me and everything I have. I will try again later to make contact with this thing. I keep hearing the word "Gary" so that is what I will call him. |

I am Boy Blue, the new Biz Team Mascot at EDJE. Today is my first day and I am little nervous. I have had several encounters with another mysterious betta fish that shows up every once and awhile. I am able to scare him away by spreading out my fins. I am pretty good at it, because he alwyays goes away. I keep hearing the name "Mirror" so I am sure that is his name! Some day I will fight Mirror and win. I sit at the desk next to Tiffany, and she keeps looking at me like I am going to jump out of my bowl! I actually might try it some day, but I think I might wait until I am a little stronger. My life at EDJE is just starting and I hope that I can live up to title of Biz Team Mascot. I will have to keep you posted. In the meantime, I do have a favor to ask. If anyone out there has some tips on taking care of bettas, please leave them in the comments below. I want to help out these ladies as much as possible! Bye for now, Boy Blue |

Butterfingers & Balloons |

Business Team Happenings |

Its inevitable. Every year at the same time I get another year older. We all do. I got to work this morning thinking I was really doing good not thinking about what was happening this Saturday. Another year. Another number.
Then in walks Tiff with a beautiful bouquet of Butterfingers and balloons - my favorite! I realized then, even though I was trying to make it clear I wasn't having a birthday this year, that it was going to happen whether I like it or not. Thanks ladies of the biz team for wonderful treat! I must begin plotting what to do for your birthdays now... |

EDJE is bringing smiles to young faces |

Today Tiffany and I had the pleasure of delivering gifts to a young family here in Indianola. A few weeks ago, we started collecting toys and the such for two boys in a family that needed a little help this holiday season. By the looks of it, they are going to have a pretty good Christmas. We only hope they can make it to Christmas before opening their presents!
Going to deliver these presents put things into perspective for Tiffany and I. We both own homes that we wish were a little bigger, but seeing that family of four living in a one bedroom apartment, no bigger than probably 500 square feet made us realize how good we really have it. To have good jobs here at EDJE, and our own roofs over our heads is really a blessing. I hope everyone takes time this holiday season to think of those that may not get to enjoy the season as good as they should. I encourage anyone that has the opportunity to help their fellow man kind to do what they can to make the season bright.
We'd like to wish everyone the best this Holiday Season! |
