Green Acres Garden Center is a six acre full service nursery, located east of Indianola, IA on Hwy. 92, serving Indianola, Des Moines, Winterset, Norwalk, Carlisle, Milo, Knoxville, and other central Iowa communities.
What sets them apart is that they GROW various plants from bare root plugs and cuttings. By doing it this way, they are able to keep costs down so we can pass those savings on to you, the customer. They also Grow Green, which means they use less water by irrigating trees, using low pressure spray stakes, in their extensive pot in pot tree fields.
Take the quick drive east of Indianola to Green Acres Garden Center and see all they have to offer!

Polk County Jail Ministries |
|
New Business Website |
|
Thursday 2nd of September 2010 10:41 AM |
| |
The Polk County Jail Ministry exists to bring the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to those incarcerated and to all the staff of the Polk County Sheriff's offices.
The state of Iowa sees over 70% of the incarcerated going back to prison. With the faith based method only 6% go back to prison or jail. What a huge difference when one is truly transformed by the power of God!
Those we minister to are counseled one on one, sign up for Bible studies, and are challenged to to stay in God's Word. They are encouraged to attend a Bible teaching church and to commit to finding a mentor. All of these help to keep them accountable.
Check out http://polkcountyjailministries.com/ to learn more about how you can help!

Rolling Hills Farms :: NEW SITE! |
|
New Website |
|
Wednesday 1st of September 2010 06:25 PM |
| |
Check out the new site for ROLLING HILLS FARMS SIMMENTALS & ANGUS!
Rolling Hills Farms are breeders of Simmental, Angus, and SimAngus Cattle. They bought their first Simmental in 1993 and their first Angus in 1998. They are a family operation with their two adult children involved. They both own cattle in the herd and have shown in 4-H, FFA and the Junior Simmental Association. In November 2008, they hired Tom Wise as our herdsman. Tom is a great asset to their operation and part of the family.
They try to use breed-leading sires that are practical, proven and profitable. They work to have moderate birth weights and above-average weaning and yearling weights. They expect their cattle to be easy-fleshing and sound with great dispositions. Their constant goal is to produce cattle that will work in a variety of operations, whether that is purebred, commercial or club calf. They are committed to the Simmental and Angus breeds, because they feel they are both great breeds individually or are a true compliment to each other.
They love the cattle business. They enjoy talking cattle. As we all know, cattle people are some of the nicest people in the world. Visitors are always welcome - just give them a call! Please feel free to contact any of them with any questions.
Rolling Hills Farms is located approximately 17 miles southeast of Lima, Ohio.
ALSO...Make plans to attend their Annual Production Sale "Buckeye's Finest Sale" on October 17, 2010 at 1:30PM at their sale facility in Belle Center, Ohio.
